I worked on a little project today to optimise the website for search engines, or search engine optimisation. One of the things I have done is added meta tags to all the pages, which now contain keywords like ‘Flixel’, ‘Flash’, ‘games’ and ‘tutorials’. As you might have noticed, I have also added a favicon which is the Kees sprite of Kees Adventure: The Lost Chapter.
You can see how well your own website is optimised by Googling ‘SEO check’ and entering your website name in one of many services. After your website has been analysed a list is shown of things you can improve to achieve a better ranking on Google and other search engines. Most of the tools are free, but are limited by one use a week or something like that. I hope the website will receive some more traffic because of the improvements. 🙂
